C) SOUNDBOARD : Pacific Northwest/Northern Midwest Sitka Spruce สี : 23+ Karat Gold and Natural Commissioned in the 1920s, the original Prince William was to be a one-of-a-kind instrument that was left unfinished due to Depression-era woes. In the 1950s an employee of Lyon & Healy personally financed its completion and named the instrument for his highly regarded harp division manager, William J. Parks. The Prince William’s sound is true Lyon & Healy: clear and resonant with carrying ability. With a mahogany finish, bunches of 23+ karat gilded roses drape from the top of the crown and swirl the base, enhancing its regal appearance. A double Rosewood inlay complements the solid Sitka Spruce soundboard. The hand-painted soundboard decoration using 23+ karat gold leaf features a bouquet of flowers set in an elaborate vase surrounded by trellised vines and ribbon.
